A group of riders will be riding to Silverton in memory of Tricia and I am fundraising in dedication to her for The Grief Center which is a lifeline for our community, supporting bereaved children, adults, and families.
Coach Tricia passed this past Fall and through this process, her friend and fellow coach Sarah Tescher, saw a need to provide people with Grief Counseling. She met Judy Austin who is the executive director of The Grief Center of Southwest Colorado which is a network of bereavement specialists who donate their time to helping children, teens, and adults work thru loss. They are a local non-for-profit which serve the surrounding communities and are often called in for group counseling, community programs as well as individual support free of charge. This local non-profit is invaluable to our community that has seen so much loss.
The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic has donated 10 entries to this campaign for 10 individuals to ride in memory of Trisha. Nan Cresto, Tina Ooley, Abbey Shepard, Jes Reed, Sarah Warren, Cara Kropp, Mark Williamson, Sarah Tescher are part of these ten riders who will then fundraise the minimum their entry fee but ideally more! The ten riders will then ride to Silverton in memory of Tricia but also they are supporting a much-needed service to the community thru the Grief Center of Southwest.
