Friday, September 27 - Packet Pick-up

Time: 4-7 p.m.
Location: Buckley Park, 1250 Main Ave. Durango, CO

  • Packet pick-up for pre-registered riders

  • On-site late registration ($10 late fee)

  • Food and Refreshments provided

  • Live music

Saturday, September 28 - The Ride & Post-ride Party

Time: 7:30-8 a.m.
Location: Clocktower, Fort Lewis College campus

  • Late packet pick-up for pre-registered riders

  • On-site late registration ($10 late fee)

The Ride - We will have a staggared start. Each wave will start with a cannon blast and police escort.

  • 8 a.m.: Century - 100 mile tour begins

  • 8:30 a.m.: 60 mile tour begins

  • 9 a.m.: 37 mile tour begins

Note: Century riders must reach Aid Station #6 by 2:30 p.m. or will be assisted by SAG vehicle.

Time: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Clocktower, Fort Lewis College campus

  • Post-ride party

  • Food and beverage provided at no charge to tour riders.

  • Family and friends are invited to join the party. $10 at the gate.

A Congregation of Cyclists just out for a Sunday Ride. All abilities, any age, every gender; all are welcome.

DWC Group Ride: La Posta – Bondad – Ignacio – Edgemont

Meeting Place: Santa Rita Park
Who: All are welcome**
Route: Santa Rita Park to US 550/160 to frontage road to La Posta. Regroup at south end of La Posta (Bondad) then on to Ignacio and Bayfield, returning on the dump road to Edgemont and back down to Durango.
Regroups: South end of La Posta, Ignacio Sky Ute Thriftway Gas Station (water, bathrooms)

The Ignacio loop is 69 miles long with 3,900′ of climbing. Look at the Map for details!

Route: DSC to Edgemont (regroup) to Lemon Reservoir (regroup) to Vallecito dam east side (regroup) back to Lemon Reservoir and then back to DSC.
Length: 45 miles with 3,700′ of climbing

2019 Trail Crew Leader Training

Crew Leader Training hosted by Trails 2000 and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado
April 12-13, 2019 – Durango, Colorado

Trails 2000 has teamed up with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado’s (VOC) Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) to offer an exciting training program for trail crew leadership in Durango, Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, 2019. The two-day Trail Crew Leader Training will introduce the fundamentals of successful volunteer crew management and is open to all levels of trail experience, from beginner to long-time volunteer. The training program is taught by long-time OSI instructor Kim Frederick, who brings many years of experience in sustainable trail design and crew leadership.

Attendees will learn and practice construction and maintenance of sustainable trails, leadership strategies and techniques, tool use, and safety. All trainees will receive educational materials and handouts necessary for a successful and fun experience.

Upon competition of the program, Trails 2000 may hire interested and qualified crew leaders for the 2019 season to assist the organization during public trailwork days.

  • When: Friday, April 12, from 5 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  • Who: Those interested in joining Trails 2000’s team as a crew leader; all levels of experience welcome, minimum age requirement is 18 years.

  • What: Course includes classroom sessions, field exercises and role playing to introduce construction/maintenance of sustainable trails, leadership strategies and techniques, tool use, and safety. All trainees receive a Crew Leader manual, set of quick reference cards, and other materials that make for a successful leader. Meals are not included; attendees should bring their own food. More information will be emailed to attendees following registration.

  • Cost: Free to those who commit to four hours of volunteer time with Trails 2000 prior to June 15, 2019.
